"The Home Front - Social Workers' Response to the Military Community" (Region H)
26 Jan 2013
UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs 3250 Public Affairs Building - Room 2355 Los Angeles, CA 90095
Registration has ended.
NASW-CA Region H, West Los Angeles, will be hosting a panel of speakers who have experience working with veterans and military families and veterans themselves who can provide useful information for military families, veterans, and professionals working with this population.
Given the high number of veterans and families affected by being in the military or having a loved one in the military, we hope information given by our speakers will be valuable in working with this population. The veteran population interacts with every arena of social work, whether its mental health, aging and bereavement, trauma and PTSD, substance abuse and addiction, marriage and family therapy, health, youth and families, case management, and homelessness.
Our panel will feature Mr. Valvincent Reyes, LCSW, Ms. Erica Gomez, MSW, and Ms. Catherine Mogil, Psy. D. They will focus on the topics of military families, PTSD, substance abuse and homelessness.
Fee: NASW Members: $5, Non-members: $10, Students attend for free!
Registration begins at 8:30am.
Light breakfast will be provided and networking to follow
