Dorothy F. Kirby Award Winners

During the late 1940's and early 1950's Dorothy Kirby was the Superintendent of the Sacramento Children's Home. She moved to the Los Angeles area in the early 1950's and became Director of Institution for the East Los Angeles Probation Department. Dorothy was active in the planning and development of the program which she ran for 20 years. In 1976, the Dorothy F. Kirby Center in Los Angeles is named in her honor for her dedicated service through the years. Dorothy F. Kirby passed away November 7, 2001. From 2002 to 2008, Teresa DeCrescenzo funded an awards program for outstanding youth workers and administrators.
