Our Keynote, Dr. Terrence Roberts, known as one of the Little Rock Nine, desegregated an all white school, Little Rock Central High School along with 8 other students in 1957. Dr. Roberts along with the other eight, were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by President Bill Clinton in 1999. Due to the school closing in 1958, Dr. Roberts was forced to finish high school in Los Angeles. Dr. Roberts is a world renowed speaker who has received numerous awards and accolades and he exemplifies our theme to the fullest, "Social Workers: Leaders.Advocates.Champions. He holds a Bachelors in Sociology, a Masters in Social Welfare and a Ph.d in Psychology. He is a Social Worker first who has a heart for people.
