Participants will learn how to use the new clinical rating scales and measurement tools of the DSM 5 to enhance clinical practice at initial interviews and track client symptom status and response to treatment over time. The course will cover use of the dimensional (non-axial) approach to diagnostic formulation. Jennifer Johnson, MSW, LCSW, is a mental health therapist and lecturer in the MSW program at CSU Stanislaus. She coordinates the campus Peer Project, a mental health empowerment program designed to eliminate stigma and reduce student suicide risk. Jennifer works extensively with the DSM 5 and is an experienced and dynamic trainer with a hands-on approach to learning. Light breakfast and lunch included.
